Radon is a radioactive, colorless and odorless gas that results from the breakdown of uranium in the soil and occurs in minute levels naturally in most homes. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) identifies radon as the leading cause of lung cancer in the United States among non-smokers. A radon test is necessary to detect whether radon is at a dangerous level. This non-invasive test includes the placement of testing devices to measure the level of radon in your home so that mitigation measures can be taken if necessary to keep your home environment safe for you and your family.
Do I even need a Radon Test? Check out this map to find out.
Termite and Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) Inspection
Wood Destroying Insects (WDIs) come in all shapes and sizes, from termites and their larvae to carpenter bees and ants. Not only are they a nuisance to homeowners, they can also present a real danger to your home’s structural integrity. I will conduct a thorough visual examination of your home for evidence of termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and wood-destroying beetles. I will also look for the conditions conducive to infestation by these insects. I’ll present my findings in my comprehensive home inspection report, and if I find evidence of these pests, I’ll advise you as to how proceed when dealing with a WDI infestation and how to protect your property in the future.
